Polished Venetian assesses whether Traditional Plastering and Skimming can go straight over the existing surface or whether the damaged plaster needs hacking off first, then finishes it flat and clean. Material choice matters. Gypsum plaster dries quickly and suits most modern homes, while lime plaster is breathable and better suited to period and heritage walls that need to move and let moisture escape. We advise on the right system before any plaster goes on.

Not every wall needs stripping back. Where the existing plaster is sound we can skim straight over it for a fresh, flat finish, and where it is blown or crumbling we hack it off and re-plaster from the background up. That call is made at the site visit, not guessed over the phone.
