Not every wall needs stripping back. Where the existing plaster is sound we can skim straight over it for a fresh, flat finish, and where it is blown or crumbling we hack it off and re-plaster from the background up. That call is made at the site visit, not guessed over the phone.

Most interior walls take a base coat followed by a finishing skim coat, though the exact build up depends on the condition of the surface underneath. The finish coat is worked by hand and trowelled flat, so the wall is genuinely level rather than just tidy.
